Should I wake up my new horsfields
Hi all, sorry I am after more advice. I am just wondering should I wake up my 2 for their bath's and to have a drink? Or leave them to settle in as I've only had them since Saturday. Their lights come on at 7 in the morning and today when I came home from work at 11 Stanley was just waking up - he went for a stroll, had some food and did his toilet business, wandered around for an hour or so then went back to bed and he is still there. Mable didn't get up till 5pm she also had a wander round and had a bite to eat. I then took the opportunity to give her a bath where she did her toilet business. I have seen them both eat but not drink.
Thanks for any advice Dave |

if you want a routine before work then wake them it won't hurt if your routine will be in the evenings then bath them then, they soon get used to a routine. Mine used to get bathed, fed and spot cleaned about an hour after the lights/heat came on in the mornings and the lights can come on at a time to suit you, if you want them awake for feeding/bathing in the evenings then have the lights come on later in the mornings. I do think animals prefer a routine than things being different each day but in the summer when they are outside they will suit themselves but you'll find that they appear around the same time and go to bed the same regardless of the weather.

Thanks very much for the advice it's much appreciated. While stanley & mable are spending so much time under the substrate asleep while I am at home will it matter if I switched the uv light off and just left the basking bulb on then obviously if they get up putting it straight back on? Obviously when I am out it will be left on Thanks Dave |
