Chains for lamps, where from please?
I have always used clamps on my lamps but would like a couple of chains. Anyone know where to get them from please & what do you attach them with, please?

Do you just mean normal chain that you buy off a roll? if so they sell that in The Range
(they also had hanging basket chains) Last edited by alley cat; 24-03-2013 at 10:00 PM. |

I seem to remember when I had a ceramic holder, as well as the clamp fitting (similar to jubilee clip) there was a little triangular metal bit that you could fit through holes on reflector to attach chain to.
Dont think im explaining myself very well. I have a couple of new tables one has a wooden adjustable arm with hook to hang lamp from but rather than hang the weight of the lamps & reflectors from the electrical flex I think a chain would help support the weight & be safer. Have seen them on ppl's set ups. |

I buy mine cheaply at B&Q, it's on a roll and you just cut off what you need, lots of choice of chains also.

Sorry, I dont use chains really, well I have one lamp that hangs on a chain but it has a hole for that at the top so no problem, the chain just feeds through and it has a cliphook that can be hooked back into the chain at any height.

Some lamp holders have an eye for attaching a chain to suspend the lamp and some don't. If the lampholder has an eye you can use a hook to go through it that can attach to a chain at the other end of it. (not usre if that makes sense)

Can you post a picture of one of your lamps Lynn? I have a few different holds and they are all different.
Some are like this - Others like this -
