I'm glad Splat had some decent care at the end. It must have been heartbreaking to have gone through that. These stories have upset me and I'm miles away!!!
Please keep us updated on Patsy. Crwban

blardy hell! both of those stories are terrible! I've just discovered I think I'm not going to get Burt and Ernie because the lady's daughter hasnt been in touch and my boyfriend thinks they may have been given to someone else. I just hope their diet changes because they have only been fed lettuce and fruit etc with occasional dandilion leaves for like 8 years. I know they have been cared for... but I was so looking forward to caring for them even more and sorting their diet out. I hope they have gone to a good home.
So sorry to hear about Splat but at least he got one day in the sunshine eh? Some of them dont even get that. |

Thank you for you kind words and good wishes for Patsy, she continues to do well and her activity levels are continually increasing
Watermelon- please do share Splat's story, I shudder to think about how many torts out there are suffering in the same conditions, if we can stop it happening, even for just a few torts, then we have made a difference. Lynne- that story is truly horrific... Zenloola- sorry you've not heard back about Burt & Ernie, chase them up and see if you're still in with a chance, Burt & Ernie need you! |

Awww that's so sad - Splat only had one afternoon in the sunshine - it's what tortoises are all about, when they're truly alive as the temperature rises. Patsy looks fantastic - well done for all the TLC you gave to Splat and still give to Patsy.

It's heartwarming to watch Patsy blossom, as each week goes by I can see her improve. No longer do I have to get her up and basking, she's usually up before me now! Today we had a break from the miserable weather and she made her own way outside from the summerhouse to enjoy the sunshine. Here she is having a refreshing drink
After a drink she got right in for a bath Then she spent a good while munching away on a cuttlefish bone Each day her character emerges that little bit more and it's a joy to see |
