The areas you are referring too on the X-ray are caused by the overlapping of different bony structures in that area, so they appear more radiopaque or 'white' on the radiograph.
I would suggest that a blood sample and repeat faecal sample, including examination of a fresh wet prep for protozoa, would be strongly advisable, you should ask your vet about this. I wouldn't dose with metronidazole 'just in case'... check for parasites first, and treat if they are there. Hope that's helpful, good luck with your tort. John |

I would go with the Flagyl as Danny suggests.

I would love to but my vets stated that at this stage he doesn't think antibiotics are the good way forward if we don't even know what's wrong with her. So we only did the Xray and he gave her some hydration fluid through injections. Apparently if she doesn't start eating, I shall bring her back. But if I had an access to Flagyl she would be already on it.

As I agree with Dan, it could well be protozoa. It would be good to rule it out either way.

No, blood tests have not been done. I will have to go there back in a week or so because I don't think my girl will suddenly start eating (considering she has not been eating for the last 2 months), so I will request them then.
Can anyone here prescribe me Flagyl? |

You can buy pills online but they are from the US and take a couple of weeks to get here.

Probably best to follow the veterinary advice given in post 21, and get your vet to take blood samples. Depending upon the practice they may have to send them away and results might take a few days.

Flagyl is not an antibiotic, it's an antiprotozoal

It is still an antibiotic though.
