Our new addition
Meet rafael our new little addition....
Just a quick question, he was born like this (see below)... with one eye, we love him as he is and it doesnt effect him in anyway hes a happy little sole but there is some movement under the eye do you think it will ever open, we have been bathing it... |

Burnt Toast on here has a tortoise that had eyes like this but with drops the tortoises eye has opened a little x

Hi your tort is gorgeous.
I have Albert as mentioned by Lynne. Dont know her full history but the girl who had her before me had never seen her eyes. They were both tight shut & she was obviously blind. I used chloramphericol drops (optrex infected eys has this ingredient in & I think golden eye) so specify you want antibiotic ones. I put them in every two hours, just do as often as you can if you cant manage that often. I tilter tort so bad eye was facing up ( to created a pool, hold it where it needs to be for as long as poss) & with the first drop I would gently rub it in different directions to try & work it under the lid, second I would hold her there - not forcibly & probably only for seconds. but eventually I gradually noticed success. Good luck & let us know how your little one gets on. You need a pharmacy for the drops - dont say they are for an animal or they wont sell them to you, say they are for a relative or friend. & I believe they are also available on amazon. |
