help growing weeds
Hi all
I've started to grow my own weeds, and they seemed to be going well to start with. I've had a few teething problems (mainly my cat ripping them up and spitting them around the room), but they seem to start growing really well and then droop and die. I start them growing in takeaway tubs, do i need to transfer them into larger pots or should they be fine to stay in the takeaway tubs. I seem to get a really quick growth in the tubs (covered with cling film until they reach the top, with limestone in them), and they are in one of those indoor plastic greenhouses. I water every couple of days but some just seem to not want to grow, and others look encouraging but then die. Also how do i know when they're ready to give my little guys. Thanks Shell |

Hi, I have grew lots of weeds in takeaway tubs, but I find large planters are best If you drill holes in the bottom of them, the rainwater won't flood them, I planted some this way last week, and they are all shooting up even with all the rain we have had I water as often as they look dry, usually with a spray bottle. It can be tricky to transfer them into bigger pots, so I generally plant them where I want them to grow Or you can grow them in the takeaway pots, and when they grow, pop them in the tort enclosure, and let them help themselves! Good luck, don't give up, keep trying

Do you make holes in the bottom of the take away tub? They need to drain or they will get too wet an d rot.

some weeds prefer a much deeper growing area
others grow in very little soil look at those growing out of tiny crevices in a wall most thrive on poor soil and negelect they are ready when ever lol however young shoots wont survive being nibbled and trampled on lol |
