I think it must be peaches for my reds, though they dont get them often they seem to prefer over other fruit. They eat the skin more than the flesh though.

Its out of season now, but through the summer my little Milo absolutely loves honeysuckle flowers. Fizz is a typical horsfield and will devour anything! Dandy's are the first to go though!

Ralphs' fave grub is nasturtium flowers (esp red ones - dunno, don't ask ) ... Little Mikey loves a dandi leaf or six, and violas... Both love cucumber (as a treat)...

If you search through the archives you will find tons of information on the stuff.

It is a formulated or pelleted diet that is manufactured for tortoises. It is formulated by animal nutritionists to provide all the nutritional needs for chelonians. It is produced for zoos and not really the general public but they do allow individuals to package and sell the product in smaller packages.

There is Mazuri, NutraZu, T-Rex Tortoise Diet, Zeigler Monster Diet for tortoises and Pretty pets. These are all similar if not the same products in different packages.

Almost all tortoises eat it. Some like it better than others but those tht eat it, love it and do very well on all of those listed.

EJ,

Don't want to hijack this thread but have you ever heard of a formulated product called "Pro Alpine Testudo" ?

Might have heard about it but don't know much beyond... there's a bunch of new packaged diets that I question.

Those that I recommend are those that I either use or would use or know people who have used the stuff for more than a few years.

Hmm. Andy Highfield mentioned it positively on another forum but I can't find any reference to it elsewhere.
