I find they are more lively after hibernation compared to keeping them up year round. But I don't think hibernation is essential now which I did at one point. My indoors accommodation is quite big and I make a huge effort to make it interesting for them but even so I reckon its more or less just an existence in there. Even with hibernating, I think mine spend more time cooped up than I would like. The winter is just so looooong here.

My first thought... why keep them.

My second thought was... should I even respond. You see where my decision went.

I hibernate mine, when i bring them into their table it dosnt seem to matter how many baths or what heating i had they were determined to just wind down no matter what i did, after a few weeks i give in and put them in the fridge, they woke with such refreshing enthusism, they do this every year, maybe here in devon its just too damn cold in those winter months
