Nocturnal wanderings
I had some nocturnal problems last night. 4.30am my old dog came upstairs whining, wanting to go out. So I got up, took him out in my dressing gown, he did his stuff and I went back to bed. No sooner had I laid down, he started whining again, then howling, which he only usually does in his sleep, I knew he wasn't asleep so went back down. He was vomiting on the kitchen floor. I cleaned that up and turned round to see he had also vomited in the hall that I had just walked through, how I managed to not see 2 piles, let alone step in it is beyond me. I cleaned that up and took the dog upstairs with me only to have him vomit twice on the landing. I decided to go down and sit with him but he wanted to go out again to eat grass. He does that when he's having one of his off days. So there I was at 4.30am sitting on a deckchair in my dressing gown enjoying the birds tweeting. He's fine now, started snoring on the kitchen floor shortly after so I went back to bed, again. Needless to say I couldn't get back to sleep so feeling a bit worn out now.

Oh dear - I hope Teddy's okay.
I can just picture you sat in your deckchair at 4:30am!

Lol you can hear all the people who don't have dogs retching now at the thought of all that mess
nothing better than a nice warm poo or pile of sick squelching up between your toes when you are half asleep. Hope he is better now. |

He's fine now. Has these funny days where he throws up for no apparent reason, once or twice a year, always has. He spent all day yesterday scoffing anything he could. Had his raw chicken, then wanted his pouch of food then kept on until he had another and then ate his biscuits. He only usually gets one pouch and 3 chicken wings plus a small handful of biscuits, one pouch just wasn't enough. He had to make up for what he'd lost in the night.

Poor Teddy, I hope he feels better today. I've been there too, up about 5 times in the night to let the dog out, cos he had an upset tummy , but the birds must sound wonderful at that time, specially where you are, in the country .

It was nice and peaceful, I was a bit annoyed I'd missed the dawn chorus, I mean, if he has to wake me at stupid o'clock at least do it so I can hear the dawn chorus or even see the sunrise.

Ha! I hope your dressing gown didn't slip and give your neighbour an eyeful. You never know, he might have been looking out, planning his next barbeque!!
