Help Needed
Hey,
Not been online for a while, but I need some advice with my little Tilda. She had a real high load of worms around two months ago. She was wormed three times by the vet and showed little signs of improvement. She will eat but only after a bath the rest of the time she is very lazy! Took her back to the vets for an x-ray and everything was clear. No sign of anything with her breathing or anything else obvious. The vet said due to the high load of worms it might because her stomach is not fully recovered and recommended I gave her a bath once a day using reptoboost. She has not improved and will still only eat after a bath. I'm taking her for blood tests on Monday, but does anyone have any suggestions? I've purchased all new lighting and heating equipment to see if that was the issue. Lee |

Hi I am not an experienced keeper but a newbie however when I got my tortoise Daisy she was FULL of worms and passing loads so she and my other tortoise were dosed 3 times with panacur. Both are quite small (45 and 75grams at the time) so had quite a high dose due to the logistics of giving such a small amount!! Both were fine after, had daily baths and remained active and eating but maybe I was lucky or just have very greedy tortoises as I have read a lot where people say worming can upset them, has she been retested for worms to make sure she is now clear? Could it perhaps be because of the time of year now as a lot of peoples tortoises are winding down to hibernate? Just a few suggestions but I am sure somebody who knows a lot more will be able to give better advice

Hi Lee!
I know with one of my Torts I was given Avipro which is a probiotic which helps with their gut flora. No I can't remember whether this was after he was wormed or after a worming. Maybe ask your vet to see if this could help Tilda? It amu also be just down to the season and she is slowing down a bit? Twiglet get likes this during winter months. Will have a bath, sometimes a mouthful of food and then bed. Good luck Row xx
