Hi Burno
Amazon usually have a list of second hand copies as well as new books. You might struggle to get one cause its not a book your likely to tire of and sell! I kinda know the author (look at me, name dropper) and he has struggled to sell the english translation of the book so there may not be many about second hand. You can get it direct from Wolfgang at www.tedtudo-farm.de Last edited by Kirkie; 05-07-2010 at 06:40 PM. |

Thanks Dave. It was your recent post that prompted me to look. I remember thinking id get that book a while ago but had quite a pile to work through, which I now have! No used on Amazon, hence the post. Maybe ill have to splash out on a new one.

Buy this one and throw the rest away!
Unless one of them is Holger Vetters book on Hermanns, keep that. We've been blessed with two outstanding books on these tortoises in the last few years. Which just goes to proove they are more interesting than other species. |

Agree with Kirkie, this book is definitely a "KEEPER".
Worth every penny, and as it was published privately the profits, go towards Wolfgang's tireless work on this species of Tortoise, and expands the knowledge and good husbandry practices he espouses. |

I'm not surprised he's struggling. I eventually gave up trying to contact him via his website to buy a copy. I'd still like one, though, if he's reading this...

Hi there
You can order the book directly from the site, I think payment by paypal would allow you to request the english translation. http://wege.1a-shops.eu/ As Geomyda has pointed out, Wolfgang is a one man operation, aided by his son, its highly likely*that at this time of the year he may well be out in*the field studying tortoises. He seldom responds*to my emails during the week, weekends are a better*bet. He is a really nice guy, with plenty of time for people who share an interest in his beloved Hermanns. Please give him the benefit of the doubt, the book is well worth the effort. |
