Default Female Spur Thigh Ibera needed!

Having found out that two of my females are male I am now facing the prospect that my one 6 year old female is going to be getting a hard time from my two males, in the very near future. I am very attached to all of my tortoises and am not prepared to part with them, so apart from seperating them permanently (which is something I don't want to have to do), my only other option is to improve the male female ratio.

For this reason I am looking for an adult female Med Spur Thigh (Ibera). I am prepared to pay the going rate and also prepared to travel.

Can anyone help?

Tracey

Dont want to put a dampner on things but i think you will need 3 if not 4 females to go with two males :\ Spurs are much more laid back than russians but i still think a 1:1 ratio will be too much harassment for a female.

yeah I would agree a 3 to 1 ratio is how I usually work it for my hermanns ...but still the boys can get a bit boistorous around certain girls.
I think the absolout minimum needs to be 2 to 1 ratio.

Having ibera males and having sent my female to my sons as she was not happy....I would suggest that in my opinion ibera are worse than any other males....and need to be kept apart from the females...apart from a meeting or two if you are to breed...

I have 5 male ibera who live together no problem in a very large well planted garden...

I have been searching for one for almost a year with no luck. Last year I spotted one on Preloved, but in a period of 2 weeks the owner put the price up almost daily as they had so many emails about buying her. In the end the price was almost £800. then a day or so later they were suddenly advertising a male! I think a prospective buyer told them the true sex!

I thought I had a good ratio, one male, three females and a baby. Alas it was not to be.

I now have a 15 year old male, 6 year old female, 4 year old male and a 1 year old. Apart from one day a few weeks ago there has been no problems. But I anticipate it becomming a problem soon.

Given how expensive an adult female is likely to be, I'll just start with the one and see how that goes, our enclosure is very big so it might be ok.
