Hi Kayleigh,

Talk about very bad timing, thank god you discovered puddle before going to the wedding oblivious to what had happened, might have been a very sad story then.

I am no expert but from previous posts of a very similar nature you need to keep puddle on paper, the wound clean, keep her warm even at night using either a cermic heater or even a heat mat over the top of a shoe box for example to keep the temps around 30 degrees but obviously no light at night hence the only use for a heat mat as a last resort.

You could put a clean dry cloth in the box for puddle to snuggle into, or hide under as she wont be able to dig on paper.

I hope puddle is ok and not too traumatised by the event.

Ade

I agree with Dan, keep the wound clean, (dilute the triagene before use) and keep her warm, and hydrated.
She will need a vet, even if just for antibiotics for any infection.
Fingers crossed all is well.
Sorry but its the reason why we say dogs and torts dont mix.

You could also use a old towel to keep her on. Good luck with the vets and keep us updated.

The dogs and tortoise NEVER mix. The gate latch got stuck and the dogs found there way in, also, the dogs a very rarely not supervised, it just happened that we were all getting ready and they found there way in. It was an accident.

The only option today, was to take her to an unrecommended vet tonight, until she could see Stuart McCarther on Monday, which I didn't want to risk doing as I used them in the past and they made her even more poorly then she was. So I'll keep nursing her until she can see Stuart McCarther on Monday, She's very lively though....

Anyway, thank you everyone for your advice, Puddle is in her hospital box, still lively etc.. and I have put her lamp on, keeping her warm.

Also, how many times should I be bathing her wound? Do I actually bathe her in a diluted bath of Tamodine or apply tamodine to the wound and not bath her at all?
