My New Indian Star Torts
Hi I thought I would like to add that I have now purchased a pair of CB Indian Star Tortoises. They arrived safely yesterday morning and are settling in well. They are 2 years old, male and female and called Tom & Tilly. They dont seem to eat as much as my TG Ibera or TG Gracea did but rather pick at their food; maybe it is because they are just becoming accustomed to a new environment, I feed them Timothy Grass, Medow Grass, Red Clover (leaves & flowers) and plantain at the mo until my mix weeds & grass mix, optuntia cacti & succulents arrive. They both have access to fresh water (which they drink), will be bathed regular and I spray mist the top soil in the table.
I was advised they would be much quieter and more shy than mediterranean species. I will be taking a faecal sample to my local vet to test for intestinal parasites before I worm them. ps they also have access to a south facing garden. Can anyone advise me on any other hints or tips for star torts please.
