Default Med Torts

I have been thinking/researching getting at tort for some time now, but I am still finding it difficult to decide so many different types. Lol
I think that it will probably end up being a med tort though cause most of the other species grow to be very large. The thing that scares me the most is the hibernation thing. I suppose most of you have this fear wach year though.
The question then is what species should it be?
I am new to torts but have kept bearded dragons for some years now.

There are quite a few med torts to choose from.
Ibera, graeca graeca, hermans and marginata, then there are the horsfields. All excellent
tortoises for first timers. Although you have beardies, torts are a little different to keep<g>, but
lots of similarites too.

I have bought books and read alot of answers to different questions on here, to try and get as much info as poss before selecting.
It took me about 6 months to decide what lizard to get, if I hadn't taken that long though i would of got an iguana and regretted it once it was fully grown

Thanks for all your input

Hi Moormax,

Firstly welcome to the forum and secondly, it's great to see people doing their homework before buying a tortoise.

Like many have said, a tortoise is for your life and your childrens lives too.

Don't be affraid to ask as many questions as you like, we are a helpful friendly bunch.
