If i order the Tortoise seed mix-65 different plants/weeds 5g packs is it? how long would one pack last for a baby Hermanni Hermanni?? planning on growing them in my kitchen window sill so not sure how many packs to buy.............could have a staggered start so always got nice fresh ones ready but cant decide how many packs i would need, how much coverage roughly in one pack??

They will sprout on the windowsill but they tend to grow straggly. If planted in the garden they will last forever but not all of the seeds will sprout of course and some will sprout only on the second year.
Planting outside now would give some weeds next year |

bit concerned about planting them outside as ive just moved into my flat and there seems to be 1001 snails that live in my back garden so would they not just multiply more and love living in my weed garden ??

Snails don't eat just anything though, they like particular plants and weeds usually fare pretty well. You will be lucky to get them to grow indoors like, some seeds need to be frosted first before they will grow

i'm glad that i read this thread. i'm awaiting delivery of some of the same seed believing that it could be planted in seed trays for use very quickly. Now that i realise that some will need to endure a winter before sprouting i can sow accordingly..
Would anyone care to recommend appropriate seed type for fast growing to feed juvenile (or hatchlings) herms' that can be sprouted reasonably quickly for when i get hold of mine? |

I got some of the fast growing winter mix, have grown beautifully, 2 weeks and now I can feed them! (grew them in a window box)

Cheers Merlin. Fortunately our garden is also replete with appropriate weeds currently, so i suppose i could manage without growing any in the medium term (if i had to).
