Ducklings safe and sound

I do like it when I'm in the right place at the right time, and today was no exception. Walking across the central car park in town, I found a mummy duck and her babies, stranded, with a very large crow, with its beedy eyes on the ducklings, mother duck was trying to shoo it away and lead her babies to safety , not an easy thing to do, so I stepped in and chased away the crow, then stepped back and let her lead her babies back to the river, while watching over them from a comfortable distance. Warning ... Cuteness overload !

Then they all jumped in the river and we're eaten by a big pike.

There's no pike in these rivers, it's too shallow, just a few trout . Mum jumped in and they ( as you can see) thought about it for a while, then decided they had no option but to go for it, as mum was staying in, so one by one they flung themselves in and paddled like crazy, as the current was quite strong, but they all made it to the other side, to mum.

It did but was going to be easier to talk will call again today.
