Pre 1984 WC and Defra certs

I have a couple of pre 1984 WC torts that are already micro chipped. With the DEFRA charge coming in soon I have figured I need to pull my finger out and get the documentation sorted.

Has anyone gone through this process with DEFRA before for pre-1984 torts?
Is it likely that I’m going to be issued a breading only\non-sale type A10?
Has anyone managed to get issued full documentation in this situation? If so how?

I have just started the same proces for my 7, two of them being pre 1984. i am using the same form too. I guess time will tell.

I have one for my female spur and it looks exactley the same as the ones for my cb torts so I'm assuming its not just for breeding, there is no difference in any of the wording, she's around 40yrs. I got it a couple of years back after having her microchipped she had 2 owners previous to me that could be traced back to the mid-late 70's so her age is only approx.

I have had to do this in the past, and I know DEFRA have tightened up on these tortoises. Because of illegal imports I guess.
Anyway you need as much history of the tortoise you can, such as previous owner and addresse, how they got the tortoise etc. Once you have such info, then they can/will issue a breeders licence. Which means you can breed and sell any hatchlings, but not the actual adult tortoise.

I thought that I'd only get a breeders cert but wouldn't it look or say something to that effect, the only difference on mine is the country of orrigin where it says unknown, does a breeders cert look different?

I have just got my A10s back today. As Pussygalore has said there is no restrictions on the form suggesting sale being prohibited (not that I would want to sell them anyway).

The cover note says that - "This certificate is valid for all commercial purposes throughout the life of the specimen".

Interestingly the A10 has my name and ID number on it only. My address has been removed for security reasons. This may also be of interest to breeders who are concerned about making their address known. I don't know if this is something new that they are starting as I haven't seen it before.
