Question THHerc egg weight

Hi everyone,
One of my female THHercs has laid three times in the last 6 weeks, all my eggs so far from my THHercs have been on average 15-16gr.
When she laid last week she only laid the one egg which was 25gr and so far looks to be chalking over? Her eggs last year weighed 15-16gr. Has anyone who breeds THHercs had anything like this with there females?
Thanks
Andy

Wow that seems heavy! 25g is the heaviest my Horsfields have laid and their eggs are supposed to be big, you are going to get a giant hatchling

Never weighed all my eggs but don't remember any that were that big.

Yeah Dan a bit strange, as mentioned all her eggs are fertile and weigh on average 15gr. After she laid the last time I had her X-rayed a few days later and this large egg showed up then. The shape of the egg was different, but still looks to be chalking over!

Could it be a triplets containing egg? Presumably eggs with twins are bigger than other eggs?

Wow that would be fantastic! Looking forward to this egg hatching and finding out what you get!

Well candled the extra large egg and it is fertile, with indication of one embro inside. This could be a very large hatchling if it makes it all the way??

Sounds like you'll have a whopper of a hatchling. Good luck with all the eggs.

Thanks Emma,
Just a pity I'm on holiday when 12 are due to hatch during the two weeks I'm away

Oh no - that's disappointing!! Hopefully they're due to hatch towards the end of your holiday and you won't miss them all.

Have you got someone keeping an eye on them who can give you regular photos otherwise?
