so exciting!!! Did you provide a huge mound of soil to lay her eggs or did you not expect it?

I have a mound of soil as a kind of basking hill so my female used this as a nest site, but the eggs were laid nearer the bottom than the top. I have about 4 inches of soil as the base level and the mound is probably a foot or so deep. I expected the first clutch due to gravid behaviour but the second was a complete surprise!
Have you found out whether you have males or females? Hope they are settling in ok.

My younger female has finally laid eggs!!! Thanks to all of you that suggested ways to encourage her. I tried them all. In the end I upped the soil temp and within 48 hours she had laid 3. So 10 eggs now incubating in total, with the possibility of a second clutch from this female in a month or so. Does anyone know how many of the eggs I can realistically expect to hatch? I keep telling myself that so much can go wrong, but I can't help getting excited!
