?? Gravid ??
As some of you know I have taken possession of a female horsfield, approximated to be 8 or 9.
Today she has been outside, no change there, but has found a dirt patch and been what I can only describe as nesting , digging with her back legs ! The chap I took her from did have her with another male, part of the reason why he wanted to re-home her as the male was pestering her (I did explain this would happen with just one male and one female). Anyway, she hasn't eaten a great deal since I've had her (Friday she arrived) I just put that down to the stress of the re-home. Do females display this behaviour as the norm or do you think she is gravid ? I did question her weight in another thread as for some reason I felt she was on the heavy side despite her shell being smooth . Help!!!!!!! |

That would be very gravid behavior Jackie Is she still digging? did she stop and walk away from the hole? Has she covered the hole do you know. Have you been watching her the whole time?

Dans the best one to advise you but in the mean time do you have a nesting site indoors? (deep soil on a slope, slightly damp - pref with warm water with a heat lamp over it)

[QUOTE=JackieL;496115]I feel so sorry for her, a new home, she had to travel quite a way, and now this , poor lass.
Yes I was exactly the same. Mine was severley underweight too + the fact she had Sid on her every moment! (lady I had them off said they got along great & he never bothered her!) she laid her eggs whilst he was asleep We were amazed! |
