CITES Question
Rescued my Hermann a few months back and he is massive and obviously fully grown. When we took him to the vet to get him checked over (he's in a lot better health now than he was then) the vet estimated that he's between 50 and 70 years old.
My question is how do I go about getting a CITES thingy to make him legal. Please feel free to correct and criticise me if anything is wrong, still a little new to the tortoise world and am trying to learn everything. We did put it out that we had found a tortoise but the owner didn't come forth. Thanks |

Your tortoise is legal now You only need an A10 if you are planning to breed the tortoise, so you can get A10s for the hatchlings.

That's Brilliant! Thank you! If I was going to breed from him in the future (not now as I would like to make sure I know as much as possible first) how would I go about getting him an A10?
Thanks Beth |

You'd apply the same as with any tortoise, though your only likely to get a breeding A10. This will let you breed him and register the hatchling, but will not let you sell him.
