Wild torts in Menorca
Today I achieved something I have been wanting to do for ages, I have seen tortoises in the wild!
We are on holiday in Menorca, we where tipped off as to where we might find some on the island, this turned out to be a 10 minute walk away from our hotel! We had to scale a rather strange stone style and then walked along a dirt track and there he was a stunning Med tortoise, we walked on and Actualy found 6 in total all lone males. Couldn't find any females as it was so hot they must have been cooling in the shrubbery areas. I do have photos that I will post when I return home later this week. Can't tell you what a thrill it was to see them in the wild |
