Default Hermans or Horsfields?

Which would you go for as an ideal hardy, friendly and beginner tortoise?

My main concern with the Horsfield is the digging and the depth needed for a table..

Thanks

I'd say both are pretty easy to care for. I have both. Funnily enough, my horsfield doesn't dig! He's odd.

I would say a hermanns would be an excellent choice. Horsefields, great too xx

Yeah, personal choice. I like the personality of my horsfield but I find hermanns more attractive.

Lovely tortoises. Require article 10 paperwork. Horsfields are lovely too...and smaller.

However if the horsfields have the edge with personality....might have to be a toss of a coin...are hermanns the same as spur thighed? If not what are they like to keep?

I think they are quite similar to spurs. Don't know much about them though.

twice as many people on here keep hermanns than horsfields going by the poll but maybe they are more easily available to buy
