Especially knowing that you really don't have to read any reply to what you put - not that I care anyway but having the joy of knowing someone can write whatever and i don't even have to waste my time reading it

I've been struggling to do the signature thing let alone the ignore button. Not that technically minded. lol

Very well put.
This is why I don't like having discussions any more you can't say anything without it being taken totally the wrong way which is a shame.
This is the problem with trying to have a discussion with people over a keyboard you have no idea as to whether they have a disability or not so it's easy to offend and even if the person who is seeking advice doesn't have a problem it can still get taken totally wrong and then it ends up in a slanging match which is not what it's about.
I have no problems with being called all the names under the sun as it just doesn't bother me I just laugh it off but some people do get very upset and that does bother me so I'm now learning to just keep out of it as it's not worth the bother.

I don't think you should stay away from discussions, G. At the end of the day, as you correctly say, people can find it hard to decipher how things were meant and sometimes things can be taken out of context. However for every one person that reads something typed the wrong way, there's probably another 10 people who will read it, find it useful and apply it to their tortoise husbandry.
I know you don't worry about what anyone says about you (and we like a bit of banter on here) but I think for the minority to take something the wrong way you shouldn't let that stop you from partaking in discussions, especially when you have a lot of knowledge you can share and which the majority enjoy reading.

Here Here !

Suze I don't think Gordon is common !

There are two principles 1) Don't sweat the small stuff 2) Everything is small stuff.

Thank-you Charlie for your lovely post and independent observations !
