its a tricky one... can't really blame the dog, i've walked my poodles with a friends male intact staffie before and i don't let her take it off lead.. its never been put in its place before and walks all over its owners, just does what it wants to (at my horror!) but when it plays with my dogs, its so violent, it trys to dominate instantly by biting the scruff off their necks and its so powerful that it holds them down first go. it really hurts them! so when i say that the dog needs to be discoplined she replys... he's only playing!!! argh!
some dog owners shouldn't have dogs!

So sorry to hear of your awful experience. I had a Staffie cross which died a few years ago, he was lovely and wouldn't hurt a fly unless it was another dog. I think this is quite typical of the breed, people who own Staffs or any other dog in fact should realise what their dogs could be capable of and take appropriate action. My dog was always on a lead or enclosed in a secure garden. I'm afraid dog owning along with so many other things these days seems to be afflicted by the curse of nobody actually wanting to take personnal responsibility for anything.
I hope your baby makes a speedy recovery and you send your vet's bill to the owner of the Staff Bindi |

Poor thing.
Hope he recovers quickly, you too. As said I would watch him around stafs in future. I had a lab who was attacked by 2 German shepherds when he was young resulting in a life long hatred of the breed and he became very agressive towards them.

Um shell.....
I just realised something..... You said your hand was a little cut and bruised in your previous post..... Have you had a tetanus injection recently or in the last 3 years? If not GO get one!..... I got bitten by a child at nursery once on my placement and had to have one as the child drew blood out of me...not much but enough for germs to get in there.....good job i did have one coz i hadn't had one since i was in my teenage years....lol!

I'm ok Jo thanks, had 3 tetanus jabs before I went to Tunisia. They told me I'd be covered for life now.

May your poor girl make a very full and speedy recovery. I hope the owner of the staff will make damn sure his/her gate is kept firmly locked in future or that their dog is kept inside! My very best wishes to you and your dog
