Wasps are usually more active further on in the summer, closer to autumn. They like the fruit that falls from trees and the blackberries around that time of year.
Wasps are very useful in the garden. They eat aphids and other harmful insects that do harm to plants. Having said that, I'm not a fan either, I've been stung twice, once on the forearm and once on the bottom of my foot when a wasp crawled into my sandal. A word of warning though. Don't kill them, they give off a chemical scent that other wasps smell and they come from all over to get you.

I googled wasps and apparently if it were not for wasps we would be paying alot more for many food's as they are used to kill bugs on crops they are superb predators and lay eggs on caterpillars etc which then hatches eats the caterpillar and goes off to do wasp things. Who new they were so useful

No wasps here, but loads of flaming bees. I spend hours vacuming them all from the conservatory ceiling.
