Way back in the 1970's when summers were hot and Autumns were not much cooler, in a field near where I lived was a number of hatchlings. I remember the excitement it all caused, though no one was particularly bothered about snapping them up as at the time tortoises could be bought for pence........and much bigger x x x xhugs x x

My leopard tortoise has free roam of the kitchen and when we are in free roam of the whole downstairs.
We have no kids so are floors are clean and bit free. Ralph is 9 and we havent had any issues and actually him roaming saved his life. Long story short he knocked off his head lamp from the clamp and lets just say the results were interesting.... I believe there is a post on here of the damage. So my personal view is if you have tidy floors that our clutter free then its fine. However it comes with a warning that Ralph has been know to leave a 17ft poo trail! |

But ultimately the best place for all tortoises is outside or purpose built indoor enclosures, x x x hugs x x x
