No, I am not breeding my own Hermanni's. It was just an accident. (Actually, at my age I should know that if there is plenty of sex, babies may follow, but somehow I did nor realise... Oh well, I do enjoy being a mummy, but it wasn't planned pregnancy.

But you must be delighted now right?

Some of the best things in life happen by accident.

Oh, I am definitely delighted. Just it is not like if I have contributed to the success anyhow... (I did neither the mating part, nor the laying eggs nor the hatching. So I had it pretty easy I would say. My Big Girl, my Big Boy and my babies did all the hard work for me. But everyone is congratulating me as if I did the hard job! )

These tortoises in particular do not produce viable eggs unless they are well cared for Hanako!

I know, I realised that. It made me feel so warm inside when it eventually sunk in. If they have the ability to hold on to sperm for at least a year and lay eggs when they choose to, there must have been something right that she decided to lay the eggs at that particular time. That's a lovely feeling.

I will definitely keeping them. I can't sell my first babies that I managed to hatch. That's like getting rid of your own children!
