Oh my goodness. Read about it on line. Poor Norma - sounds as though she has a long way to go to recover, if she can.
We have just been up in our roof as we have a rat up there! We will have to get the rat man in. They cause such damage, not only to animals. We have had them chew through wood to get to the chicken food. I take every precaution I can to protect the torts. Hence we have so much wire fencing in place outside. |

We had a squirrel squatter in the roof last week and needed a man with a trap to catch the little so and so. He'd gnawed through the soffit board, another board, a sheet of plastic and about 2'' of wood to get in.
I keep my chicken feed in a metal rodent-proof storage box and all the animal enclosures have anti-tunnel skirts and wire lids. Rats and squirrels are such pests and carry such awful diseases. Hope you get rid of the rat soon.

poor tortoise. my mums next door neighbour has got some illness from a rat. he lost the use of his arm I think. When I was in Australia they wouldn't drink beer from the cans case the rats had spent a penny. Or they would be vigorously washed. Mind you I wouldn't drink beer from their cans being in 100 degrees.
Mice have nibbled through some plastic in the greenhouse so im on mouse alert too now. CB

Did you know terriers are called terriers as in terra firma. Have you seen how they shake their toys as puppys....nasty rats take that! I only have to say the word squirrelssss to mine and they go ballistic. Good job I am a responsible dog owner, mine would come for a play in too though .

I'm hoping not to have any more squatters but if I do, I'll be sure to give you a call G and CB you might as well join in the fun, though I'm not sure your doggies would fit in the loft!!
