Hello Abbie. What watt bulb did you go for in the end? I'm juggling between the 80w and 100 w just can't decide which to get.

I got the 80w at first but she just wanted to sleep all the time we weren't sure if it was because she was unsettled after moving home or it wasnt warm enough for her. I changed it to the 100w and she seems happier. The 80w was warm enough but only when the room was hot, 100w seems better x

A lot of torts are simply much less active at this time of year no matter what bulb is used. I'm just pointing that out because I've read loads of posts in the past where people run to the vet with their tort because they're sleeping all the time or not eating much. Fact is I've read loads of posts where this has happened and cat and dog vets have given all kinds of medication and x-rays and various things when there is nothing unusual about the tort's behaviour at all.

She's perfect now she's active all day and sleeps from the evening, i think it was just the change of home etc that disrupted her

From my experience Abbie, when torts get a bit cool they dig under the substrate, if warm they stay on top. Personally I would like to see them buried at night as I believe the dampness of the substrate helps their general health x x x hugs x x x
