Welcome to the world of horsfields they are fab tortoises I love mine. I have soil and big stones in mine I used to put plants in but they are so greedy lol they eat them to the ground if I put them in even if they have plenty of food on there slate. Spider plants are a favourite to be devoured as is aloe both are fine but aloe can give them runny poo if they eat to much. I wouldn't use wood chip as it's not good and I know some mix sand in with soil but I find it irritates there eyes so I stick with just soil. Mine love a nice big mound of soil to play about with :0)
