setup Ok and light question?
Well as many of you probably know We finally get to pick up our hatchling tomorrow Me and DD have been busy getting the setup ready.
Just wanted to check it was all ok? This his her indoor setup untill wednesday then we got a table coming and This will then be used for oudoors with a few alterations being made first. Thanks x Also just a quick question does anybody that uses a large cage hang the light from inside? Just want to know if it's ok to do this really. I have a solar glo and have it hanging as low as I can on a stand on the outside but only getting reading of 26oc. Thanks Again x

Thanks Alan will give that a try trying to leave cutting bars as a last resort as it will be getting used outside

I've got my basking light on one of those clip-on holders. That way I can move it according to the temps readings. It can be clipped inside or outside of the bars.
Nice set up Cara. Bet you're at bursting point with excitement!!!!!!

i hung my light inside but after about a week i ended up cutting a hole in the wire on top and lowered the light in as it was getting to hot.... I have now took the cage part off completely and banished the cats from my bedroom

you could even (instead of the mound idea) just put a whole lot more topsoil in until high enough, even to the height of just below the cage part and then put carboard or something round the inside of the bottom bars to stop the tort from climbing up them

Bet you are sooo excited!
Make sure you get a houseproud tort so that it does not get trashed! I laughed when people said that before I got mine, but we have a teenager that is tidier and leaves less mess! Also take everything away from the sides which could act as a ladder to get out - you will be amazed at their Houdini efforts! Pat x |
