Could I just ask? What if you don't want to get a tortoise microchipped. If you transfer the a10 in your name before it reaches 10mm does that mean you don't have to have it chipped even if you sell it on or breed from it in later years?

No Lynne, when a tort requiring an Article 10 is over 10cm it needs to be chipped in order to sell it or any offspring it may have whether it is immediately or ten years down the line - unless of course they change the legislation before then

heyy ive gont one male called milo, we looking for some friends for him!! are theystill available?
we have a secure garden with a big run for the tortoises and inside shelter for the colder days!

Hi Davina-you may not be aware but Male tortoises fight and cannot be kept as 'friends'.If you did have more you would need to seperate,which rather defeats the object!

these two are male does this mean they will need to be separated?
my sister is looking for a couple of torts but they will be her first and i dont want her to have problems
