I'll take some more photos over the weekend. I have to admit that I've become concerned that they may have grown too fast based on the comments I've read on the forum. Not sure how I can slow them down since they free range within their enclosure. Even their tortoise table has trays of growing weeds so they can browse - guess I could replace the trays with plain substrate and feed every other day?

Don't know if this'll help you but these are the tail areas of a male and female Hermanni of mine. The male was 12.5 CM and the female 13.5CM at the time of the photos.

Thanks for that - mine look female compared to that picture, but then I guess they all look more female until tortoise puberty hits them. What did tours look like when they were half that size?

Might be a bit hit and miss with sexing a 2 year old hermann!
Everyone finds their own way with feeding. Personally I wouldn't go to alternate day feeding because with plenty of heat and light these tortoises will be hungry and a growing healthy tortoise is not a bad thing at all. Just worth keeping an eye on weight gain over time by regular weigh-ins. For indoors I personally wouldn't offer an all day buffet at the seed trays!

I just went out to get some pic's of the two year olds and they ran away from me. They've turned feral!

Hah, mine are always much more pleased to see me when they're inside in the tortoise table. Only Alpha is the least bit friendly when they're outside (but then Alpha is the greedy one).

Yes I get the friendly act indoors too. When outside mine are wilder animals.

Okay, some more photos.
Alpha Beta They were a bit bumpy when I got them, but I think I've managed to slow their growth somewhat (a struggle with Alpha). Habranthus |

Very attractive torts with strong colour contrast which is what you expect of the hermanni hermanni. Might be that they had rather a lot of food before you got them as they are quite big for their age. But lovely colour and pattern.
