....however the solar meters I admit are pricey. But worth it I say, if you go the combined bulb route. Byeeeee xx

I agree with Rach.

It's a shame the solarmeter is so expensive because unless you don't bother with uvb lighting at all it is incredibly useful to have one.

I use mine when setting up a uvb source, when checking to see if the uvb source is still working and if so how effectively, and I use it outside to get an idea what is going on with natural uvb. It's a very useful gadget unless you just ignore the issue of uvb altogether.

I had a Arcadia 160 d3 combi bulb and found it to be ok although 1 did blow on me but as others have said Arcadia do replace them (within a year). That being said I have switched over to a Arcadia t5 with a spot bulb. The t5 gives the inclosure a better light I feel.
