I leave my tortoises to right themselves and ensure there are a few things around that they can lever themselves up with, i have watched to makesure they can do it so if they turn on their backs while im out it gives me peace of mind that they know how to get themselves back up, its good for them to learn x

I read an article just the other day saying that the lungs of torts are just under the the carapace (top part of shell) so if they do turn over on thier backs thier lungs get squashed. So be careful.

My 5 year old hermanns Freddie can right himself easily, good thing too because he is always climbing! My little ones find it a bit harder though so I've placed a few more rocks around to help them x
