Hope everything is OK. I am using a ceramic heater all day round, and my little star staying right under it almost all the time at night/ day, the temperatures in the cooler end staying around 22C but Stars need higher temperatures.

Thanks everyone!

Went to the vets to find Squirt did a big poo in her pet carrier

The vet weighed her and took her measurement but can't remember what for!

She said to keep Squirt warm and to keep her light on during the night as she thinks the Temperature was too cold for her during the night. I do have an Electric hen i could use that i had been using for the chicks would this be OK? (It's pretty much a heat mat on Legs)

She also said if she is still blowing bubbles even after she is kept warm by next week to bring her in again.

I would have to disagree with keeping the light on at night - they do need a day/night cycle - there maybe a night light for reptiles that isn't bright - have a look at the shelled shop and see what is available.

As long as the room is kept at 20 oc any heater will do - fan heaters would be expensive to run though.

I use halogen heaters - they are quite economical.

They say red light is OK for reptiles to stay all night. Have a look at ceramic bulbs, they last longer and give no light whatsoever. Ceramic bulb with chicken reflector can do great job. Keeping tropical tortoise warm on a table in UK is a pain ... Until it is sorted.

hi i agree 20c is good overnight certainly no lower than 18c.leopards really do need a steady background heat and dont cope well if allowed to become chilled.
