My fingernails
Someone commented on the length of my nails a while ago and I said I would grow them some more and post pictures. It's only 2 because the others broke. I usually cut the rest when one breaks or they look odd. These 2 are roughly the length they usually reach just before one breaks. They little finger measures 1.2cm, the other is 1.7cm. That's the white part where the nail is no longer attached to the nail bed. I have no idea why they grow so long, they just always have, I never bit them as a child and they just seem to be really strong.

Wow, I like long nails but could never grow them that long. When I'm working they need to be short.

My nails would never grow that long, they're quite weak. Not sure why. I'm taking zinc at the moment to see if it helps

My little finger nails grow long too and the ring finger but the others break off. I suppose it's because we use the other fingers a lot more.

Wow that is long! my nails are always kept really short because they grow wonky, if you look at them from the tip of the finger they look wavy

I'm green with envy! my nails break as soon as the white starts to show!
But my 2 year old daughters nails grow like crazy, I have to trim them every 4 or 5 days to stop her scratching us every time she comes near - with luck she'll have lovely long nails when she's older! |

My nails grow very strong but could never have them that long, I think they would get in the way, I can't type if they are too long either.
I have been told that by eating a square of jelly a day makes them stronger, how true that is I am not sure, but I did used to eat loads of jelly when I was younger, I love it. Marg.

It was me Wendy, I have the long nail obsession - mainly so I can paint them
The cube of jelly doesn't work - old wives tale. I have thought about it for ages & asked various friends with strong nails. My limited results tell me: not eating too much sugar & eating plenty of veg fairly healthy diet helps. Not being dehydrated & using creams/oils. Although some people just seem to be lucky or inherit good nails Do you ever paint them Wendy? |
