Not sure what the point is though with it all. Awful as it is (if its true)... The man is dead.
What good does this do now. xx

Hopefully 'seeking the truth' will help bring some peace to the girls involved.

"One of the most striking things is that today so many inner wounds are coming to light, wounds that also date back to many years (sometimes decades) ago, but evidently still open, Many victims do not seek financial compensation but inner assistance, a judgement on their painful individual experiences. There is something that we have yet to fully understand; perhaps we need a more profound experience of events that have had such a negative impact on the lives of individuals.............."

Yes but that's if it's true. I'm not saying it isn't but its allegations at the moment. If it is indeed true then what? They can't charge him. He can't be arrested. He can't go on trial in a court of law. The man has a family and let's not forget the years of charity work for Stoke Manderville Hospital.
I'm in no way saying I believe one or the other really but I'm thinking the man is dead. He can't defend these allegations. His family (grieving probably still) will be thrown into this.
What about them?
There are rightly paedophiles and perverts who get what they deserve and justice is one of them but right or wrong - we are all entitled to a defence and to bear in mind that some people are in fact innocent. And their lives completely ruined.
Just my opinion, but yes if he is guilty of the allegations then shame on him. But what then?
xx

For anyone wondering why it has just come to light now, it actually hasn't. I remember from waaaaaaaaaaay back these stories and rumours about him and listening to the Jeremy Vine show, those women who were on, the young journalist who was sent to interview him because her editor said he liked young girls and the other one who was forwarned about how he would behave towards her. The young journalist said she was spooked by him because he kept asking her to say she was 16 even though she wasn't. The other young woman who was forewarned, felt intimidated because he tried to kiss her on the mouth in a room with 7 other men and she was the only woman in there.

I had to laught at the woman who was on defending him, she said we were friends for over forty years and I used to see him at least once a year!! Good grounds for a defence that is then Mrs

In cases like these where you have a celebrity you will always get people who refuse to believe that could have done such things

I see your point Al. If the allegations were so strong then wouldn't a victim want justice? As in - this man is alive and I need to press charges and put him on trial for these crimes. If the man is dead what can be achieved? If he was alive at least the victims could say he was punished in a court of law and have some closure knowing their awful ordeal was tried in the proper manner and justice was done. xx

But...right now...its all just hearsay in a court of law.

Jeremy Vine show is the most awful one sided mob led pitch fork and fire branding piece of media clap trap my ears have ever bled to.

The only way I think it would gain proper credence is if the BBC come out and say something. Its a shame because we should live in a world where we readily believe the things these girls say, I really really want to right away, but the world is a very twisted place, from paedos to people crying rape.

They certainly would want justice but as it said on yesterday's programme if a 12 year old girl told anyone that she had been abused by the legendary Jimmy Savile would she be believed or would she be accused of telling lies? Many adults who have been raped don't reveal it never mind a 12 year old child.

The fact that he's dead shouldn't be allowed to get his reputation off the hook. The full extent of Adolf Hitler's crimes were revealed after his death, they didn't simply ignore them because he was dead.

When you get other celebrities saying they believe it's true then they would know him better than the general public.

He used his charity work for his own needs http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/uk...y-work-1354781

Maybe, but on yesterday's programme they had people defending him .. only they their defence was based on .. "look at all the good work he did for charity", people who'd met him a couple of times and therefore formed the opinion that he could never have done such a thing.

Esther Rantzen on the other hand is getting on a bit and would have known him most of those years and she couldn't defend him

Esther Rantzen has been honest enought to say that she and other people in the BBC are complicit because they all knew the rumours and gossip but none of them wanted to take the issue on.

Who wants to go on telly and say that Jimmy Saville sexually abused then twenty plus years ago? All their friends, relatives and neighbours are going to know. The pressure on victims to keep quiet is enormous.
