Default Help! Hatchling number 2 has large yolk sack

Hatchling number two has hatched this morning and has come out of it's shell looking a bit wonky and has a large egg sack. What do I do for it. I've bathed her and she had a good drink and is back on the damp kitchen roll in the incubator. is this the right thing for her?

that should be fine, I used to try to rest any with a large egg sac on something so the tort was supported and not sitting on the sac, it would soon be absorbed and the tort seemed quite happy like that. I'd keep it in the incubator if there's room untill its all gone but I always gave mine a drink as well, in the dark/warm incubater baby will go back to sleep.

She does seem to be lively enough fingers crossed she will be ok by the end of the day. Gave me a bit of a fright after the smooth hatching of Tiddles but hopefully she should be ok. Thank you for reassuring me xx

I'm not sure, as I'm not an expert, but the yolk sac looks ruptured , don't panic, keep it were it is , until some one else like Gordon or Dan comes along to tell you what to do, I might be wrong.

It will be fine as Suze has pointed out i would use the bottle top method im sure it will be fine i have had worse when you put the Vaseline in smear it round the inside of the lid and make a dip in the Vaseline to accommodate the yolk sack then sit him in it and it should take a couple of days if it gets smelly change lids and repeat the process you can bath the tort but be very careful not to rupture the sack hope this helps
