I have noticed the temps dropping to about 14C at night so is that ok or should i get some additional heat on him throughout thew night. Im keep inspecting him and he seems fine. But it was definately a wet nose and a bubbl! For some reason my hot end temp has risen to 37C at the mo, so im fiddling with that now. Would that affect his nose?

forgot to mention that he is situated next to a radiator, so when the heat comes on, he is first to feel it.

Hiya alotoffluff,
I know your tort hasnt got it, lol , thats why i wrote in my message "make sure your tort actually has rns before you use it". I just thought you wanted to know if anyone knew if there was a cheaper treatment on the market just in case you needed it as you couldnt afford the vets,
Just hoped i help with the info as i wasnt answering about your torts bubble, personally i think your tort is fine and you`ve got the new mum worries, as we all have with new torts, best of luck
Becky xx

Thanks Becky, yes you did help, and if i find out he definately has RNS, i will do what you suggested.
Maybe he had just come out of the water dish and the bubble was a side effect of this. I dont know, but when you see a wet nose and a bubble. you panic!
Jackie, i am keeping an eye on him, very closely, and if it happens again, i will have to take it from there!

RNS is a bit of an umbrella term for respiritory illnesses in torts, it can be caused or aggravated by different things, it can be viral or bacterial. One of mine is very prone to it, it deffo helps to keep him warm
Some torts may gasp or squeak and show obvious signs of distress, they can go off their food, as well as the obvious signs of wet noses and bubbles. If they've just eaten sometimes the juice from their food goes back down their noses, I bet that's what Fluff's was!

Bindi i hope you are right. He does seem ok now though. He has retired to bed for today.
I did keep looking him over and everything else was ok, so i reckon you guys are probably right with everything you have said - as always!
It is a worry though isnt it? Bless him!
