Default any suggestions?

well i've agreed to look after a poorly tort after my heartstrings were pulled today a lady rang me asking for advise on her tort who hasn't opened his eyes for 2 days and is not eating, after lots of questions, it seems husbandry is fine, diet is good anyway she took him to her local vets and said it was conjunctivitis and was given antibiotics and vitamin through injection (the vet was afraid to open his mouth)
basically, advise i gave was to keep him warm and hydrated and get some artificial tears from chemist
she rang me a few times today and finally i agreed to take him for a bit as she doesn't feel confident enough to look after him while he's like this she's dropping him off with me tomorrow
i will be bathing him regular, keeping him warm, will defo look inside his mouth, any suggestions on what this could be?? sand/soil substrate, not hibernated this year, 2007 hatchling i think

dehydration? wrong light(too intense) Way too many variables to know. How often was he bathed? Any suppliments given? What kind of heat/light? Mouth rot? Too much it could be just by the info given.

Sounds like the vet was not a lot of good. Not wanting to open the mouth.
I agree dehydration could be the problem, and as Paul has said could be lack of UV.
Until you have the tortoise its hard to say.
We dont even know the speices.

tried takin some pics but too blurry, zoomed out and can't see
herbie is goin to my vet on weds, owner is takin him, until then i can only keep him warm and hydrated, eyes still closed, sounds and looks like rns, quite dry-looking and flaky, would anyone recommend glucose?
i also spoke to my vet this afternoon and he will give owner f10 to give to me so i can use it in my nebuliser
