Default Dodgy arcadia bulb

Im using 160w arcadia bulbs to light my setups however one has been flickering for a month or two. But for the last few days it has started flickering more and turning itself on and off. I thought it was maybe the holder, but i have swapped it into the other holder which was also running a 160w arcadia and it is still flickering and cutting out. The bulb was only purchased around march.

The problem is i seem to have misplaced the box with the warranty. Am i screwed and facing the misfortune of having to purchase a new bulb?

I had one of my Arcadia D3's do this for the last few weeks, I contacted the shop I got it from and Arcadia had a new one sent out the next day

Do you have the receipt?

Do you still have a copy in your inbox? That is where I got mine from and forwarded them a copy of the invoice and they sorted it out

If you don't have a copy, you could try contacting them to see if they have your order on record?

Hi,

There will always be a failure rate with electronics! This is why we offer a no quibble years guarantee.

Most if not all of these issues are caused by bad connections in the lamp holder. M.V lamps have a thermal cutout which exasperates the issue. If there is current one second and then not the next the lamp will cut out and fain a fail!

But yeah if it's less than a year old just take it back for a no quibble exchange.

John

I thought they also could switch off/cut out if the holder is too hot?
Like a safety thing? Is this right, John?? xx
