my friend lost his fight
Over the weekend a friend of mine lost his battle with cancer, some will be familiar with his contribution to social media with his videos of Ryan Gosling not eating cereal.
They are raising money for Sarcoma UK in his memory: https://www.justgiving.com/RyanMcHenry/

So sorry to hear of the loss of your friend, Merlin. I only recently became aware of his videos when Ryan Gosling filmed his own of him eating his cereal. My thoughts are with his family at this awful time. x

The one Ryan Gosling filmed eating cereal was apparently in tribute to my friend

Yes, I gathered that. What a lovely tribute.

I haven't seen his videos, but I am very sorry to hear of him passing away. It's always so sad when a young person loses their battle. I hope they raise lots of money.

More than money I hope they raise awareness, I know it wasn't something I have heard off before. All started with a sore leg, so easy to dismiss and usually nothing but sometimes the little things hide something scarier!
Have a lot of respect for Ryan Gosling though for his tribute and condolence tweet but more as he sent my friends partner flowers which was so very sweet!

A school friend of mine had sarcoma ( bone cancer ) in her leg when we had just finished our O levels , in 1981. She had to have her leg amputated , she was only 16. But thankfully she survived. It started with a small bump, that grew rapidly. Cancer awareness is so important.

That's sad Merle. I actually read the article about your friend and it was moving. What a fighter and he seemed to keep positive throughout. Also saw the Ryan Gosling vid, great tribute to your friend. Hope the message got out there - I'm sure your friend would be well chuffed. xx

...and that's a really lovely gesture that Ryan Gosling sent flowers too. xx
