I think the preference thing don't stop international call centres but could be wrong, also i think it's a load of crap, if you do any on line insurance ect they pass the info on. We started getting a lot, so we switched to answer machine all the time they do not leave message or number. They can't get through so give up finaly, this system annoyed my partner's mother who liked to ring ten times a day .

I had to change my number because of this. Now I don't hardly give my home number out only my mobile. I don't have trouble with them calling my mobile. x

We are signed up to preference which initially was brilliant but recently I think the calls are mainly international. We have caller display on our landline too so if it's not a number I recognise (or is in my contacts) I simply don't answer it.

We get at least 1 or 2 a day... It drives me round the bend. I tell them to get lost or I just hang up depending on my mood... My husband sometimes goes along with the call until they think they may have a sale then he tells them where to go.

We have caller display too... we also have the no anonymous calls preference but companies get round it and when the phone rings it comes up with unavailable or international. I answer the phone incase it is a real call but it never is.

We get this really bad, so i bought a new set of phones which support call barring.
So we ignore the call the first time, add it to the black list, and next time they phone the phone doesnt ring, it just answers and hangs up immediately
We must have 2 dozen numbers in there now

What phones did you buy out of interest. And what is your number (only joking).
