may have different feeding requirements may have different sexual courtship behaviour differing species can cause physical harm when courting a different species may be carry pathogens that may harm other species so the majority of us will not mix different species http://www.shelledwarriors.co.uk/for...mixing+species |

It shouldn't matter too much unless they are two males and very differnt in size. I wouldn't put a hatchling in with an adult.

He is unlikely to get lonely on his own but at a young age getting another probably wont bother him, but you always have to be prepared as sometimes they will fight and have to be separated but this is less likely at a young age. If in time you do get another one, and as said they are addictive remember to quarantine for 6 months.

Lovely little tort, they certainly are addictive.
Always consider a rehomer if possible when you wish to expand your family. Ther are lots of opportunities and you do get lots of satisfaction this way. Obviously, be very aware of Quar. period and same species etc. Really good to see that new keepers are joining the forum and asking questions |

I only ever intended having the one but... I'm going to miss mine so much when she hibernates next year! It would be so nice to have a non-hibernating tortoise as well as my beautiful baby, Thumbelina... Anna |
