Indian Star health question

Hey guys

I have a 4yr old Indian Star who has been very quiet for the last week or so - normally he's quite active and likes stomping around the house, but recently he's just been hiding in the nearest corner.

Also in his open viv, he's changed his usual sleeping spot from the warm end to the cool end, and is almost completely inactive through the day. However, he's still eating and hasn't lost any weight.

I took him for his bath tonight and he had a wet layer of black gunk on the bottom half of his eye. I tried to take a quick pic but phone wouldn't focus so close. It washed off when i poured a little water over his head, but it's never happened before. His tail had a slight pink tinge - not sure if this is anything to do with his penis showing through under a think layer of skin, but could be pink from something else. It doesnt look swollen.

No runny nose, no visible breathing problems, still moves around when I hold him up, trying to wriggle free.
open viv, 35 warm end, 25 cool end. Been giving him lettuce/carrot/rocket because there's no weeds about during winter, though these should be appearing again soon.

Anyone ever had this before? Any ideas what it could be/what could help him? Is it time to go to the vet?

I'd try partitioning off the viv to keep him in the warm end at night. You can remove it for during the day. The pink tinge could be the start of an infection. It can't hurt to have a vet look at that. Have you tried pellets at all?

When you feed him in winter with no weeds its essential to try to mix with Timothy hay.
I being mine up because she's little because they need the fiber.
Florette crispy is the best supermarket food to mix with the hay and is you can get your hands on dried edible weeds from shelled warrior shop ethat gives them vitamins and variety ect
I'd see a vet about sitting down the cool end and being out of character.

The reason its essential to mix hay with their food is because stars need 80% fiber and shop bought is no where near that percentage

no expert, but I read on here before pink tinge can be septicaemia but your tort doesn't show the signs of that, but septicaemia I know can be secondary to a bacterial infection. which I think Danny has mentioned anyway. If you can get specialist vet to also double check his tail end maybe. Hope it goes ok, CB
