b and q winter plants.
Is it ok 2 feed Georgie pansys from the garden centre or do I have to do something 2 them first cos they could b grown in fertilizers or something that's bad for her.

Cant feed any bought plants for a while. U need to feed them the new parts that grow when its with you really for the reasons you have wrote

agree as above, I bought pansies and it was a month later I fed them to be sure all the un-natural rubbish was weathered out.

When I buy them I take the soil they're growing off (as much as I possible can) then leave them in sterilised soil for a couple of weeks before I feed. x

So if I pull the flower heads off wen they re grow they shud b fine if I put them in my own soil

I just use sterilised top soil, the same one that I use in their tables xx

I always wash the roots out and repot in unfertilized compost, and weather for 4 weeks

I see campanula in flower are on sale in some shops just now, M+S for one. They produce new flowers almost every day which may be okay. I once bought one and the torts were able to reach it and ate the whole thing without it doing any harm but it's best if you can hold off at least a couple of weeks with plants, spray them with water to wash off anything sprayed on. there could be systemic insecticide in the soil and in the plant but torts eat toxic plants so who knows if it does harm or not TBH
