What a lovely hatchling Stellanne She will be fine! As for how long you can leave them in incubator: iI wennt on holiday in May leaving 3 eggs in incubator at my dads. Dad didnt realise he could take them out of the incubator! So for the best part of 10 days he got them out bathed them, put them back in their box, complete with vermiculite! And food popped them under basking lamp for a while then back in incubator!! They are fine, thank goodness

Just one thing I've noticed, on the front left side of the babies shell ( the margin to the left of the head) it looks curled inwards, one of mine hatched like this last year, luckily Gordon ( turnip ) noticed it and uncurled it . I hadn't noticed it. If it is curled under, you need to uncurl it while the shell is soft. Of if it's left, it could cause problems with growth . I hope that makes sense. I thought it's worth mentioning just incase it is curling under.

With mine, once it was uncurled, I had to keep easing it straight , very carefully with a cotton bud , for a few days, until it stayed straight, and the shell hardened. Obviously I can't see it properly, but it does look similar to how my hatchling was.

Hi Suze, I have just checked her and it is ok. The photo made it look like that. But I would still like to know how to straighten out a shell should it happen. I have two more eggs from this clutch and I think they will hatch the same way.
On a good note, already they look less 'one sided'..... I am feeling much better now. Thanks for your support. Stella x x x
